Evolve Sports Agency Launch
Evolve Sports Agency is open. From today we are representing footballers and coaches in New Zealand — and every athlete who signs with us starts with something most players never get handed: a proper record of their own career.
Why another agency
New Zealand has never been short of players. What it has been short of is the infrastructure around them — a clear pathway once the age-group system ends, an evidence trail a foreign club will actually trust, and someone whose job it is to make the phone calls.
Most players who miss out do not miss out on ability. They miss out because nobody was managing the two years before the opportunity arrived, or because an approach went to the wrong club at the wrong point in its season. That is the specific gap we exist to close.
The athlete portal is live from day one
Alongside the agency we have launched TalentPro, our athlete management platform. It is where the people we represent keep their professional record: playing history, verified performance data, video, an individual development plan, and scouting reports filed by named people.
- A profile that is maintained over seasons, not assembled the week before a trial
- Training, match and wellness logs that build a picture over time
- Coach feedback and scouting reports held against the athlete, not lost in an inbox
- Controlled sharing — clubs see what is relevant to them, when we send it
Two things about it are deliberate. Every account is approved by hand by a person at Evolve, so nobody gets access to the players on the platform by filling in a form. And it runs on our own servers, here in New Zealand, rather than on someone else's platform overseas.
A recruiter's problem is rarely finding footage. It is trusting what sits behind it.
A profile maintained over two seasons, with named people willing to put their assessments to it, is worth more than a highlight reel put together in a hurry. That is the whole argument for the platform, and it is why it launched with the agency rather than a year after it.
Reach beyond the domestic game
We work in partnership with Forwardzone, a football strategy and management firm founded in Johannesburg in 1998 and operating across Africa, Europe, South America and Australia. It gives a New Zealand agency reach it could not build alone, and gives our athletes a route into markets that would otherwise stay theoretical.
